The Meadowbank
project is located 70 kilometres north of the Hamlet of Baker Lake,
Nunavut, Canada. The project covers an area of 30,521hectares and consists
of 10 Crown mining leases encompassing 7,395 hectares and three exploration concessions administered by Nunavut Tunngavik
Inc. (NTI) encompassing 23,126 hectares. All are held 100% by Cumberland.
Readily accessible
to ocean and air transportation networks
The Meadowbank project is serviced via the ocean accessible Hamlet
of Baker Lake, which has summer shipping access and year-round airport
facilities. Helicopter or float-equipped Twin Otter aircraft provide
transportation to the project during the summer. Winter access to
the project area is by helicopter, ski-equipped aircraft, snow vehicle
over a winter ice road or wheeled fixed wing onto an ice strip.
A four season access road is planned to be built.
